Patagonia Fish Report

The Trout Fitter Staff

Greetings from Patagonia. I\'m writing to let you know what\'s been happening with us recently and to remind you that this corner of the planet still remains among the very best places inn the world to chase wild trout with a fly rod. That fact holds especially true for the Rio Cisnes valley which continues to be a relatively quiet and forgotten gem despite an explosion of new lodges and outfitters in the surrounding area in recent years.

On the waters we frequent it is still far more likely to see a Condor soaring overhead or a local gaucho leading an ox-cart than it is to see another fishermen on the water, this thanks to our remote location beyond the reach of the hoards of guides now competing for the waters within range of Coyhaique. This means we can still offer our guests an enjoyable and relaxed schedule at La Posada with no need to bust out at the break of dawn in order to beat other anglers to the best water.

With 15 seasons of experience on the Rio Cisnes now under our belts we can honestly claim there is no other outfitter that knows this beautiful and diverse watershed better than we do. Every year we continue to explore and re-explore the many nooks and crannies of the waters within range of La Posada and, with each passing season, our knowledge of where and when to go fishing becomes that much more extensive. For a complete description of the waters we now access from La Posada de los Farios please visit this link: www.flyfishingtravel.com/chile/laposada_fishing.html
